LG Electronics is introducing modular cooling systems that aim to speed up AI data center construction and let operators expand gradually as computing demand grows, the company said Tuesday.
At Data Center World Asia 2026 in Singapore, LG is showcasing cooling, power and operational technologies as it seeks a broader role in AI infrastructure beyond supplying equipment.
Its new Hydronic Modular cooling system packages pumps, valves, emergency buffer tanks and piping in a prefabricated container. The unit connects directly to an onsite chiller, reducing the welding and assembly needed to supply chilled water to server rooms.
Operators can add modules as capacity expands, matching investment to demand.
LG also introduced an air-cooled, oil-free inverter turbo chiller for AI facilities. A magnetic-bearing compressor reduces friction, while a refrigerant free-cooling function uses outside air to help remove heat without running the compressor, cutting energy use.
Its fan wall unit supplies cool air and removes heat from densely packed server environments.
For liquid cooling, LG showcased 1-megawatt and 2.6-MW coolant distribution units, which circulate coolant through cold plates attached directly to GPUs and CPUs. The company said its 600-kilowatt, 1-MW and 2.6-MW models have received Nvidia qualification.
LG is also developing immersion cooling, which submerges heat-generating equipment in electrically nonconductive fluid. Its “chip to chiller” portfolio aims to manage heat across the cooling system, from components attached to processors to the chillers that remove it.
A separate “One LG” offering brings together LG Electronics’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology, LG Energy Solution’s battery systems and LG CNS’ data center design, construction and operating capabilities.
“We will become a key partner in the global AI infrastructure market with comprehensive cooling solutions optimized for hyperscale AI data centers,” said Lee Jae-sung, president of LG Electronics’ ES Company.
